Meal planning

Meal planning is one of the biggest ways you can save money each week and month. This is because you reduce the amount of money you spend each week on food because you only buy what you need. This also reduces the amount of food you waste, giving you a saving all round. It’s easy to get started, even for someone who isn’t so great in the kitchen. It just means investing a little time in advance and working out the meals each week. This then helps you write a list of the items you need to buy. You can cut your food bill dramatically by doing this, so it’s worth looking into.

Take a good look at your shopping bill

While on the subject of your food shopping bill have you took a good look at it lately? You might find you are buying more expensive products when other brands could work well and just as good. A lot of us get stuck in a habit of buying the same things because we can be a little afraid of change. Things like razors is one thing you may buy the same each month, whereas gillette is expensive you could consider other brands to bring the cost down. This also doesn’t just apply to personal items but food as well. Sometimes buying a supermarket own brand can be just as good and save you a whole heap of money.

Make your home more energy efficient

A great thing to consider would be to try and make your home more energy efficient. This is because you may be wasting money each day without even realising it. From not switching lights off to letting heat escape your home. Sometimes it’s just making simple changes that can make all the difference. Getting your home insulated. Making sure your windows and doors are the top specification and being observant on the amount of electricity you use each day.

Check you have the best deal available

Another thing when it comes to the bills you have to pay is to make sure you have the best deal possible. Especially if you have come out of a great introductory offer. You then end up paying more each month than you should. There are some amazing websites that will allow you to compare different companies to ensure you are only paying the least amount you should be. It’s advisable to get into the habit of doing this every six months to ensure you don’t overspend when you don’t need to.

I hope this helps you save money each month.
