Friday, December 21, 2018.

If you’re looking for a career change and want something that is either fun or rewarding, why not consider working with kids? There are so many different careers that allow you to work with children so knowing where to start can be difficult if you have no experience in the industry. Luckily, there are lots of different routes into these kinds of careers and it’s never too late to go after what you want.

With that in mind, here are 6 amazing careers for those who want to work with kids:

  1. Paediatrician

If you want a career that is incredibly rewarding, becoming a paediatrician may be the job for you. This simply means you’re a doctor that specialises in kids appointments, helping cure common illnesses as well as focussing on more serious cases. Whilst it requires a lot of training and a thick skin, you’ll feel happy knowing you’re making a difference to our futures lives.

  1. Teacher

Becoming a teacher is not for everyone, however, it can be an incredible job for those who love children. As a teacher, you get to teach them everything they need to know and shape them into becoming the person they want to be in the future. It’s long hours and a lot of hard work, but it’s definitely worth it when you get to see them grow up right in front of you.

  1. Nursery Assistant

If you don’t want to become a teacher but you do want to play a vital part in a child's education, you may want to consider becoming a nursery assistant. This involves working with kids before they are old enough to attend school. Whilst it’s not quite the same as becoming a teacher, it does mean you get to help them develop from as young as a couple months old.

  1. Substitute Teacher

Often, people want to become a teacher but don’t have the flexibility to do it full-time. If this is the case, there’s always the option to become a substitute teacher that covers in case of emergency or sickness. It may mean you work across a couple of different schools, but you’ll soon grow to get to know all of the kids you work with. For substitute teacher jobs, you can visit this site here.

  1. Animation Team At A Resort

This is definitely a more temporary job, but an incredibly fun one nonetheless. Often resorts have an animation team that focus on putting on different activities for children staying at their resort. Whether it’s art and crafts, magic or performing arts - the idea is to get kids involved in doing something different every day. If you’re lucky, you can do this position across different countries during their high season.

  1. Child Phycologist

Whilst becoming a phycologist isn’t a fun career, it’s definitely one that can be considered rewarding. It’s not often talked about that children have to attend therapy, but when they do they need someone calm, strong and reassuring to help them talk through what is bothering them.
