Why You Should Let Religion Be Your Guiding LightBy Features DeskFriday, May 20, 2016.At times, we all struggle to find our way. Getting lost in life doesn’t matter as long as we find out way back onto our path. When we’re young, it’s easy to wander off course. Especially, when we’re unsure about what we want to be, where we want to go, and what we want to do. In times when you’re stuck as to where you should be going in life, let religion guide you.Today, far too many people choose to be faithless, and we wonder why so many of our friends and loved ones lose their way. The best tool for guiding yourself through life is religion – be it a religion born from Christianity or Buddhism, it doesn’t matter. All that’s important is that you allow your chosen religion to help you find your way. Give religion a chance and it will be your guiding light.Pray regularlyIf you are going to let religion be your guiding light in life, you need to welcome it in with open arms. You don’t necessarily have to attend your church or temple every day but what you should be doing is praying regularly. God works in mysterious ways, be it Christ, Allah, or Buddha that you turn to, look for the signs. Subtle signs are always there; these are your lord telling you where your life should be going.  Become part of the religious communityImmerse yourself in the religious community, both locally and online. Spending time with other people who share your faith will help to make following your religion that much easier. Build bonds with others so that should you struggle to stay in touch with your religion, they can help to guide you. Whatever religion you choose to be part of, it’s essential that you are actively part of its community.Do all that you can to help your place of worshipMost religious buildings – churches, temples, mosques, etc., are run by donations. Whenever you attend a service, give something back to the church. A few pennies here and there may not seem like much, but every little helps. If you’re in a good financial place, consider making a larger donation. Or you could buy something for the building, such as chairs from somewhere like Sanctuary Seating. Your church or temple gives you a lot, so it’s important to give a little something back!Use religion to help youIf you listen hard enough, your religion can show your path in life. You may not know where you want your life to take you, but while you pray it may all of a sudden come to you. It’s not just your life path that religion can help you with but also times of need. When life gets tough, your religion can be a point of strength, helping you to get through it. You can even use your religion to help others and make their lives better.Allow your religion to be your guiding light and you will find it much easier to find your way through life.
