3 Career Fields Where You Can Make A Difference

Some folks just want a 9-5 job, and that is OK, but some of us want to change the world and make a difference. Something that the black community and its advocates need as much of as possible. With that in mind, check out the top 3 career fields to enter into where you can make a difference.

Education

Many jobs in education will allow you to make a significant difference in people’s lives. Of course, the roles that will have the most effect are the one in which you will have direct contact with students.

However, it’s important to remember that it’s not just teachers that get this privilege but support assistant, behavioral management team members, school nurses, and counselors as well.

What this means is that you don’t have to pick a teaching post to work in education, and help nurture the young and provide them with a life-changing best start.

Government

There is, of course, another area in which you can make a significant difference and impact in the lives of black people, and it’s to work in government. Now, this may not be as well understood option as education or healthcare, but it can be a vital one.

After all, it is the government that sets policy that oppresses or supports, the government that sets laws on things like stop and search and the government that defines what counts as discrimination.   Of course, one option is to run for office yourself, a process that entails running as a local candidate and usually aligning yourself with a particular party.

Although, the government is made up of vital people that are not all politicians. In fact, without the civil service, the system of government we have could not run and therefore taking on a role in this area is not only a way to be involved in chance but also essential to the infrastructure of our country too.

Luckily, to get a post in the civil service isn’t as complicated as getting elected. Instead, you can go to university and complete a course and apply once you have your degree, or you can make use of one of the civil service apprenticeships that are now being offered.  An opportunity that will allow you to get your foot on the ladder, while earning at the same time.

Not a bad situation to be in for a career that will ultimately, allow you to make a significant difference in the world.

Healthcare

Healthcare careers, many of which have postgraduate to entry-level positions available are an excellent choice if you are looking to change the world. After all, you will be dealing with both individuals and institutions directly, and this means the opportunity to change things is great.

In healthcare you won’t just be saving lives but be a role model too.

Also do not forget that your presence and success in such a career will affect too, as you will act as a positive role model for our black youth. While also being able to change the system from the inside when you take on a position of responsibilities.

It’s on a totally different topic but it has pretty much the same page layout

  2. An outstanding share! I have just forwarded this onto
a friend who was conducting a little research on this.
And he actually ordered me lunch due to the fact that I found it for him…
